Or it's Sunday afternoon, and the forecast you recorded FRIDAY didn't quite pan out.

| Once upon a time, someone drew the short straw and had to stay over the weekend/holiday and update things for all the automation......

Dont know her name...but the brunett who does the Progressive Insurance ads, always dressed in white with a sort of nurses hat on. She is another that I "zap" when she comes on, can't take her delivery and looks.
I haven't seen one lately but the best TV spots in my opinion are for a Liberty Insurance Co. They are always very positive and usually feature someone helping another in some way. They get my vote.

You're thinking of the Liberty ads where somebody does something good and it gets passed on to another. Very effective.
But, I like the Progressive spots as well. Perhaps it's a generational thing. Apparently, it's the first thing that's really worked for them.
The GEICO lizard and the AFLAC duck are legendary. Who would have thought that insurance would have been so much fun?

My favorite GEICO commercial has to be with the two squirrels that cause a car to run off the road, then they "High 5" each other.

I too would reach for the remote at the site of Billy Mays his voice was way too annoying to me and his hair was just too black, especially the beard. I do hate to say too much bad about the man since his death. He was a heck of a pitchman and I did buy some Oxy Clean (which I liked) and some of that putty (which was worthless).
I used to like the Progressive girl "Flo", but no more. I guess I've seen too much of her so I usually grab the channel changer quick when she comes on.
I enjoy the Keystone Lite beer commercials on TV. I think the girls is real cute in the one where the dude knocks over the shelves in the store I especially like the one where the old man calls his grandson "Nancy" and tells him to toss it right down the alley, then uses his walker to pop him between the legs after being hit in the head with the beer can right down the alley.
AS for outdated weather and out of sync voice tracking...i have heard waaaay too much of that. Very sad

| I had to lower my head and whistle into the darkness ... I did that in Burlington a few times. The key is ... is to make the weather forcast vague like a horoscope. And if you have 30 seconds streeeetch it out "Weather is brought to you by ..." So basically anything other than an F3 tornado and people can say well it was kinda accurate ... I should feel shame huh... Last edited on Mon Jul 6th, 2009 06:49 pm by ken371

Here's a recent example of "outdated production" that almost turned tragic...

In an unrelated note, the two Delany's and their right hand lady all resigned from the Branson Daily Newspaper yesterday.
