Just curious, as I received a call from the Springfield Vistors Bureau that our station complex, kxkx/ksdl/ksis was selected as one of the out of market stations to come to Springfield for the Simpsons premiere. I think the only other one was in St. Louis, so I'm feeling pretty proud It got me to thinking though, what did the stations in Springfield do to promote Springfield voting for the Simpsons premiere. I also wondered if any of you were going.
I will be going to the Simpson's premiere as well...honestly, I discussed the Simpson's contest twice on the air, on two different stations...and found there was little interest. I'm not sure if that was just in general, or due to people's opinions on the Simpson's coming to beloved Springfield, MO. Or maybe it had to do with opinions on the actual trailer, I don't know.
Long story short, I heard very little on the premiere hubbub. But I will be attending.
It got me to thinking though, what did the stations in Springfield do to promote Springfield voting for the Simpsons premiere. I also wondered if any of you were going.
