Meet the Press is no longer on KWTO .
That's because they've stuck it over on 1060.

| Did any of you catch Booms trivia show today from the Skybox? Riddled with technical problems at first, Booms clearly agitated but it was spellbinding. A little raunchy alot raunchy compared to say Art Haines, actually fun to listen to. Almost recaptured some of the magic of 2001 just because it was the afternoon, it was on Jock, and Chuck was in that I could snap at any moment zone. You know I have to wonder, playing devils advocate here, I wonder if the homegrowns over at Meyer really like ol Chuck or think who is this interloper and can we take up a collection for bus fare back to Ohio ? 20 one dollars to the Pink Cadilac was funny, what no roll of quarters for the Paradise? LOL...

I was there and it wasn't all Chuck's fault...the Tie-Line had a bad channel that was giving a ton of static and it took a while for them to discover what the problem was and to fix it. But yeah...Chuck was in rare form this afternoon.

| Actually yesterday showed me what Chuckie's real strength is, raunchy afternoon guy humor. From what I have listened on the morning show he sounds like a sinner trying to behave in church, too pandering, tries too hard to be likable to old fogie Springfield types. When he is on with Ned you can feel his unconfortableness, afraid of offending or saying the wrong thing. The plus is Scott Puryear has been funnier and edgier lately and I have to think its the hey Booms isnt the only funny guy around here. I'm just a listener don't know any of this as truth, just my opinions... I don't know these people personally. The Lyle Waggoner massage joke still has me laughing ....

"My first two thoughts are...
His voice on a 10 scale is about a 2 or 3 and ...
Too much sports on a regular talk show format...save it for the sports station."
I've heard a number of complaints about his voice from weekend callers. Of course, these same callers are usually really P.O.'d about something else. Since the Mark Levin show is appearantly growing by leaps and bounds, I'm not sure that Booms would crash and burn simply due to his voice.
As to the sports talk, it isn't my cup of tea, but so what. My understanding is that the Kiley and Booms show transcended the typical sports show and was extremely popular. I've heard nothing but raves about it. Never heard of it myself, prior to Booms coming here.

Have to chime in here…
I’m in no way connected with radio except that I’m an avid listener of talk radio, when my work allows it. My dial has been set to 560 AM for at least the last decade.
I’ve been thru Bonnie & John, Bonnie & Billie, Ron Davis, Bonnie & Billie, Wesley, etc. Those are the ones I remember. So it was a real surprise to hear on such short order that Chuck Booms was coming. I’ve never heard of Chuck Booms and was shocked to hear that KWTO gave less than a week’s notice to Woody & Chuck Wooten in regard to the weekday shows.
Now I’ll be the first to admit that the weekday shows had their groupies (Ernie, Jack, Dave, Ruth), and the shows did get monotonous at times. But then again, so does Rush.
So now it’s been a month or two since Booms has been on and as a fan of talk radio, let me say I find him awful. I don’t like his nasally voice, but actually that’s at the bottom of my list. On radio, he displays the maturity of a child when confronted with a caller who disagrees with him. He cannot argue or discuss intelligently with anyone who has an opposing point of view. He literally starts screaming at them. The closest way to describe it is that he has temper tantrums. And you know, I guess it would be interesting/funny if the people he’s screaming at are "out there" but the ones I’ve heard aren’t. Just people who have differing opinions. The day he repeatedly screamed at a 70+ year old woman because she agreed with a previous caller (who he also yelled at) was the day I lost all respect for him. Which really puzzled me because all he yakked about was his dead mother whose death 2 years ago he apparently hasn’t gotten over, and I thought how would you like it if someone screamed at your mother the way you screamed at her? I’m really curious what the people who are working there with him think when he goes on one of his maniacal tirades.
And the topics he chooses are subpar and boring. Last Friday his topic was what would you do if you were the parent of Britney Spears? WTH? And heaven help you if you called in and wanted to discuss something off topic. But apparently he doesn’t have that many callers because when the Red Cross lady called in last week after the storms to give out their info, he kept her on the line asking all sorts of questions such as where she was during the storm, etc, etc, etc. She didn’t sound very comfortable answering his questions. Where's all his jock callers?
Anyway, sorry about the long rant but I do not understand the intellect behind this decision. So this last weekend, after the Britney Spears show, I made a decision not to waste my time anymore listening to KWTO in the mornings. I can honestly say I have no idea what he talked about this morning. However I will continue to listen to their weekend morning shows because they talk about local issues and treat their callers with respect. This has certainly made me appreciate Woody & Chuck Wooten. And btw, I’m in my 40’s and don’t consider myself an "old fogie".

| While driving to a meeting yesterday I tuned in to Booms for a short time....what a looser. I couldn't believe the way he was treating a caller on the air, he's totally out of his gourd! I will predict that in the Spring Arbitron, they will be dead last in morning show time.

| Chuckie lost my support after his illegal alien rant. Granted my old boss used to stand at the border and pass out aprons... but the whole rant had a cross burning if I appeal to the very lowest base baccy chewing forienor hating hillbilly type, people will like me. If I go full scale Sam Kinison on Hillary Clinton, Illegal aliens and child molestors getting life instead of the death penalty folks will shoot thier shotguns off in the back of thier truck with approval. Actually his whole act should have a brick wall and smoke behind it because it is like a bad 80's comedy act. Tip your waitress...

| I have not listened to Booms on 560, but I used to listen occassionally when he was on Fox Sports Radio in the afternoon. He could really rile up the Jackie Stiles fans. I don't know how he does on 560, but he does freshen up the Sports Reporters when he comes on. Ned is ok, but you can only have so much of the straight man. Scott seems to mail it in a lot. Chuck at least shakes it up a little, but I think he would wear thin on a daily basis.
