Valorie Knight Named OM at Journal/Springfield MO
Journal Broadcast Group/Springfield, MO, hires Valorie Knight as Operations Manager for its five-station cluster there, including KTTS-FM, KSGF-AM & FM, KZRQ-FM and KSPW-FM. Knight previously worked in Springfield, IL, as OM of WQLZ-FM and WLCE-FM since 2004. She's also served as Program Director for WGIR-FM/Manchester, NH, from 2002-2004.
Springfield Operations VP/GM Rex Hansen commented, "Valorie's years of experience in and knowledge of the industry will be tremendous assets for not only our company, but also for our listeners, and our advertisers. Her strategic thinking will be key to the future growth and development of our Springfield organization."
On joining the Journal staff in Springfield, Knight said, "I'm really looking forward to making the move to the Springfield community and I'm very excited about returning to Journal Broadcast Group, a company that I have a lot of fond memories of while I was working for them in Kansas City."
Knight prevciously spent 13 years in Kansas City working for stations that included KUDL, KRBZ, KQRC, and KRVK in a variety of positions from Air Talent, to news to Music Director. (02-15-08)

Knight Rides Into Springfield, Mo.

Valorie Knight joins Journal Broadcast Group as operations manager of the company’s five-station cluster in Springfield, Mo., replacing Chris Cannon. The cluster includes country KTTS, news/talk KSGF-AM & FM, active rock KZRQ and CHR/top 40 KSPW.
Knight was previously employed by Mid-West Family as operations manager for active rock WQLZ and triple A WLCE in Springfield, Ill. She served as PD for WGIR/Manchester, N.H., from 2002 to 2004 and spent 13 years working in the Kansas City market working for stations such as KUDL, KQRC and KRVK. While at KQRC, she received three nominations for R&R Music Director of the Year.
Springfield operations vice president and general manager Rex Hansen said, “Valorie’s years of experience in and knowledge of the industry will be tremendous assets for not only our company, but also our listeners and our advertisers. I realize that I live in a cave sometimes - have I missed something...What happens/happened to Chris?

Should we be surprised Journal has made such a move? Not.
Chris Cannon is a great guy who gained a lot of respect from me. I hope he didn't get the Journal shaft.

| I worked with Valorie in the mid 80's at KZKC TV Channel 62. I had only casual passing interaction with her but found her friendly, professional, and recall that she looked good in a bathing suit. She was in the promotion department and appeared poolside in a station promotion about a pool giveaway. Best of success to her and Rex at Journal.
