I know its the "dead" of Summer, where not much happens, but before you know it, it will be fall, Brown Derby gives away cheesecake beer posters, kids return to school and Parkview loses football games, Do you any of you radio folks see or predict there will be any big changes at any Springfield stations ? Or play consultant, have fun and create what changes you would like to see occur. My witch doctoring would include, find a true bleeding heart, Air America wanna be Liberal and pair this person with either Chuckie or VDJ now that would be entertainment.

You know, I have to admit I am hoping at this upcoming KTTS reunion there is an open bar and after say 12 hours getting lathered up they " take over" Todays KTTS creating the greatest Springfield radio scandal since Woody P Snow was sued by S.W School of Broadcasting... LOL. Kidding around. Seriously 106.7 has gotten alot better lately making US 97 sound stale. Like the Cave overnights, they really open up the vault at 3 am.  Star 105.1, who runs that station the society of wimps. Dude, John Tesh sounds positively ballsy compared to rest of the programming.

Todays KTTS is old. How long can it be Todays? Classic KTTS is what we need. I will now yield to Hoopman ....get started.

Thats it, call to arms, wake up the echos. Investors you don't need no stinking investors, you need to form a convoy head strait down Grand street and take back your Ranch. You know those current punks are strutting around like they own the place, no regard for history or tradition, they have probably gotten rid of everything from the old days and think thier big ratings are because of something THEY did, not feeding off a legacy and putting out an inferior product. Just think former Ranch hands every morning its that mullet headed, trenchcoat wearing Canadian who is looking out those windows, walking your hallways, doing production in your basement .... they probably refer to you guys as the old fogeys, NOW WHATCHA GONNA DO !!!! " Cue " Eye of the Tiger" out. :)

I did not know this until today but Wikipedia has a whole write up on KTTS. Its pretty generic and doesnt get into alot of details although it does mention the "off-kilter" morning show of Andy and Julie. NOW, here is a challenge for the board regulars write what you think each Springfield's stations Wikipedia page should say.  Ghosts man, sometimes in the dishroom I hear the voices, the voice of Stan Friend " paper or plastic, thats what a bad attitude gets you." ( SW School of Broadcasting circa 1994) or the voice of Rondo ( Ron Johnson) " Look here slickety-slick give me a disc-jockey when he is 25 and he is mine for life .. daddy rabbit .. " Joking around.. I am sure the whole KTTS reunion will be dignified and cool, they should televise it like the Missouri Sports HOF inductions, maybe have a roast on cable access. That would be cool.

I do't know about the TV thing, but this is long overdue.  Like a class reunion, you always get a kick out of seeing old friends.  That's what this will be.  I think this group does have a lot of stories to tell.  We were a close-knit group that hung together after hours.  Those nights at the Hitchin' Post or the Top Rail.  And if storms were on the horizon you had to fight off volunteers to come in and work an extra 6 or 7 hours to do storm coverage.  That doesn't happen anymore!

Young...Old...It didn't matter.  Once you're a Ranchhand, the right to passage allowed you to spend time at The Post or The Rail!  And I'm not old, just well-seasoned!

As a kid, Top Rail and Hitchin Post is where my kin folk went to do thier honky tonkin'. All that stuff was gone by the time I turned 21. You have to know those wusses at TODAYS KTTS hang out at places like Planet Smoothie, none of them have rode a mechanical bull, chewed Copenhagen, loved the ladies or Jim Beam or were even born yet in 1973.... Show em how its done ....  Show them what swagger and being somebody is dammit ....

Top Rail...wasn't that the place on Glenstone where Stan Friend's wife drove their car through the side of the building?  and...the Hitch'n Post, where was that? You can tell I really didn't spend much time at either one.

That was a night to remember!  Stan Friend's wife at the time was bigger than he was and he was 6'7"!  She was a few feet wider than him.  The Post was where the Top Rail was before they moved to East Kearney.
