| Sad news concerning long time KC radio personality Dave Monday who has been battling cancer since late last summer. He has been released from the hospital and has returned home under the care of hospice. Dave is such a fun guy and his resume includes stints at KY102, KWKI ,KLSI Classy 93, KFKF and most recently at KCMO FM. Dave was also the track announcer at the Kansas Speedway and is a huge Nascar fan. He also was the voice for Hy-Vee Grocery (or is it Price Chopper?). Dave (Mike Stephenson) is originally from Sedalia where he got is start in radio. God bless him and his family! Last edited on Sat Mar 15th, 2008 11:25 am by Turner the burner

| KCMO FM P.D. Don Daniels and morning show host Dick Wilson did a nice tribute to Dave Monday on the air this morning which included one of Dave's last breaks. You can hear it at 949kcmo.com Last edited on Mon Mar 17th, 2008 10:47 pm by Turner the burner

| The Dave Munday memorial service last week at The Kansas Speedway was very moving. His son's Chris and Patrick both spoke and would have indeed made their dad proud. I especially liked the picture montage which documented radio from the 70's thru the present. There was a large turnout in the rain at the winner's circle as Dave took a final lap, under a checkered flag, around the track that he had been the announcer for since it opened.
