So, what's going on with Goodradio? Since the annoucement that they're not going to buy those Clear Channel stations, there hasn't been news. Anybody hear anything?
Just that in Waynesville/St. Robert/Lebanon it's still business as usual. They might take the talk programming off of KJPW FM and take it back to country, but that was an idea being kicked around as it seems that Goodman wants the talk format on the AM's only.
So, I have received several 'off the record' emails about the situation at GoodRadio.
Most of them have to do with Mr. Goodman's apparent decision to back out of the Clear Channel deal, and it's affect on the purchase of the Shepherd stations.
After reading these off the record comments, it seems that Goodradio has finally closed the deal on the Shepherd stations, but it's unclear if Mr. Goodman is actually still involved in the company.
There have apparently been many staff changes at some of the Shepherd stations, as they attempt to lower overhead. Someone in Omaha is supposed to be running all of the Goodradio stations from there.
And, rumors also suggest that the company will sell all their properites in a couple of years, a la Wilks (who flipped Superfrank's Springfield stations a few years ago).
So, there are the unsubstaniated rumors. Anybody care to the shed some light on what's really going on?
