It looks as though all of Randy Wachter's stations have gone dark, including KNSX Steelville, KLPW-FM Union (AM has different owner), and KKAC Vandalia. Anyone know what happened?

I noticed 93X was on Thursday. I heard the Killers and Jamaraquai (sp?), but I turned to KSHE when I heard Surfjan Stevens and stayed there for the rest of the day. I feel bad now.
93X was one of the more tolerable jukeboxes. If a new song was out, they identified it. If it was hot off the shelf of the record company, they played it rather than waiting for R&R to greenlight it and they backsold it. That's where I first heard "Walkin' on the Sun" by Smashmouth. I heard it in May and Springfield's Channel Z didn't get to it until October.
I noticed that KESY 107.3 in Cuba was off the air. It had been simulcasting KLPW-FM or maybe they were on the air and just simulcasting KLPW's static.
This doesn't suprise me since Randy had posted for sale signs on the stations websites.

Looks like 93X and KLPW-FM have returned to the air - KKAC is still off, and I'm not sure about KESY, as I am well out of their range. Not sure what happened...

| I suppose KKAC could have been taken out by the ice storm.

A poster on Mike Anderson's Stlmedia.net site is reporting Vandalism in Vandalia at the KKAC studio, which is a converted clothing factory. Don't know if that is what took them off the air; I do know that KKAC is very openly for sale, and hasn't been selling ads, so I wonder if Randy just decided to cut his losses there after the vandalism.

| Is there anything new on KKAC? On air, off air, ownership?

KKAC has been back on the air for 2 weeks now; back to the same "Action Country" format that it shares with KLPW-Union, with splits for local weather and spots.
PM me if you'd like more info, and I can get you in touch with Randy Wachter.
