I seldom watch network television but someone sent me an e-mail with this segment from American Idol.  I always liked this Elvis song and think this adaptation is marvelous.  If you did not see it please check it out...

1968, the year I graduated from high school and attended the Career Academy School of Broadcasting.  1969, the year I started in radio in February and then was drafted in August.  1970, the year I was sent to Vietnam and later worked for The American Forces Vietnam Network.  To quote John Hartford, "I Never Knew The World Would Last This Long".  To quote Mickey Mantle "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself".

I also enjoyed the Lisa Marie/Elvis version of In The Ghetto, some music with a message.

It think that If I Can Dream was the flip side of In The Ghetto on the old 45rpm with Ghetto it most of the airplay.
