| This board has been so slow I've been tempted to start some sort of rumor. Instead, let me say it was good to exchange e-mails recently with an old colleague at KTTS back in the 70's in the 24-hour news center. No not Morris James, Ray Shermer, Barry Johnson, Dave Baldwin, Mark Spinabella, Dan O'Day or Diane Davis...but the hardest working man in the newroom Tom Wahl . Tom is in Flordia now. I always admired his work ethic and ability to get so much done in that busy newsroom and with the possible of exception of Barry Johnson, Tom had (in my mind) the best delivery on the air. When I was there it was not "pony express news" but simply "the 24-hour news center", what a great image...and of course country music 48-hours a day. That station was soo good ... it "sounded like the ozarks" and I've always been proud to have been a small part of it. I wonder if there are any old airchecks floating around...I would love to listen again to the likes of Barefoot Bob, Gary Hightower, Bill Clay, Bill Rerkin, Rick Richmond, Larry Knight, Jon Stevens, Chuck Riley, Rob Hough, and Don Paul with little brother Elroy (I loved the spots DP did with himself as Elroy, some of those were so funny....ahh the good ole days. It bums me out to see what radio has evolved into compared to the way we were. Now let me see if I can come up with a good rumor...I may have to make one up.

I heard there was a petition to bring back the 'Classic Tornado Warning Tone"
Dave Richman has alot of old tapes from the day. I have just enjoyed the old sports and weather jingles that he shared with me. I will try to figure out how to put some on here and share. Desideva could help me. Radio was FUN radio when the Ranch was not Big corporate. Great Empire was indeed Great. The news bulletin was great and the out of bulletin with poney express news. I say bring it all back. Opposing views will be considered

| Tom was a very hard worker, indeed! We had some interesting and fun times back then. It seemed like just yesterday, or uh, maybe, longer.

I wonder what a "Locally owned " station could do with the older experienced talent and more news like Great Empire used to have. If the old team was brought back the knowledge would make it a success. All in favor of starting a local group of investors should say so now. I think there could be a station ( overpriced today) that may want to sell and with local money and an aging "hall of fame talent" it could rock the numbers off the wall and give advertisers and listeners what they want. Not some corporate model that works for numbers only. Bring back the magic of Mom Pop local ownership. ' Ozarks Broadcasting group" could raise the dollars I bet. Who is in?
Put the Express back in full gear.
