Don't know what TV did last night during the heavy rains, 'cause we were in the car.
That said, though, radio didn't help us at all travelling in that rain. We were IN Lebanon, and couldn't see 40 feet, so we turned to KJEL for the latest weather. Forty five minutes later, when the rain finally had subsided, a weather report. "...and there is some heavy rain out there." No location, no movement, they DID read through some stale flood warnings. We were fully informed of the latest doings or Colin Raye, his new recordings and concert schedule.
So we turned over to KTTS. After all, they are THE weather station...so long as the stroms haven't gone past Springfield. Listened from 7:45 to 9:00. All we got was NEW flood warnings as they came in, all two of them. At 9, the news guy summarized the warnings, and told of road closings. Outside of the 9 PM report, I'd have done as well listening to NWS radio.
All in all pretty disappointing to a traveler watching lightning strikes and seeing the rivers rising on the way home.

We lost DTV last night due to rain fade...a sure indication of heavy rain nearby. At our station we also lost our satellite feed due to rain fade...I think for the first time. Our engineer will be happy to know we did not lose the STL link which is amazing considering the conditions.
