I'm with Scotty on this one, more temps more often doesn't guarantee more TSL. The same with the time. Most cell phones and most cars display the time. Most people wear watches. Outside of morning drive I can only see temps being read during a weather forecast. That's it. I'm not totally against weather. KTTS does an amazing job and they always have. I feel more stations should cover severe weather. That's where I turn when the skies turn gray.
It's like EVERY small market station thinking they MUST have a Trading Post or Auction Block, Farm Reports, or Obituaries. They all have their place, but not on EVERY signal.

| Today is a perfect example of why it is so important time and temperatures and accurate forecast are given. After 2 weeks of nice springlike weather we now have a winter storm. Driving conditions will deteriorate and roads will become icy and Bridges will form black ice. No doubt many radio stations will not inform of the temperatures and drivers will fell they can keep driving at the speed limit. If you watch the MSHP website you will see this afternoon drivers killed and injured because of "skidding off the road" It could all ( at least some) be prevented by good information on times and weather information being stressed and that live interview with the weather service and MSHP about the changing conditions. Spring storms are not the only killers.

OUr stations don't have accuweather, but we have Weather eye who tells us the forecast for the area we designate and then gives a current temp. It's nice to hear. Plus when severe weather occurs, they call and can update our forecasts, or give us exactly what the weather is doing, and then could also call in during unmanned hours and bring updates. I love the service and our listeners do too.
