I see on Allaccess.com that KZRG is seeking a Program Director for their news/talker
I'd take that job. Sounds like fun actually.
I know there are a lot of anti-Zimmer people out there... who say that Zimmer is not a good company to work for. I don't know, never worked for them.

But, PD for KZRG still sounds like a lot of fun, especially for someone who's a news/talk junkie like me.

Will be interesting to see what ZRG pays...Forbis as pd  revives the frequency after years of virtual dormancy, shows growth, then they say    oops we realize that we are paying you too much--cut his salary about in half....so he is with Metro in Florida.  Gratitude+big bucks=????

---I still think the technology is a poor excuse for having No station ids during Cardinal games  on 1230 for several consecutive nights...  this shows no pride in the "brand," and no sense of pr-marketing-sales and community relations....

and wonder how WMBH new studios are coming downtown, close to where they were for decades.

I   E mailed Zimmer and told them about the lack of IDs during games on KZYM.

Tonight they seemed to have corrected the problem but no answer for my E mail.

Thats modern radio with automation when it fails not good, but happens often.

I emailed them also..and they actually had  ids tonight.. they must have .heard one of us!---yup,no email  admission from them,  of course.

They either:

a  kicked the computer

b. kicked the tiny mother station in StL

c.  Hired a live 17 year old to push the right button

d.  Heard the FCC breathing down their necks.

I would hate to do it but would have probably notified FCC in K C if they hadn't corrected the problem,

At least they could have E mailed us and thanked us

I don't listen to KZYM much except games, but do listen to KZRG and they have made it a great station, just what Joplin needed.

The Zimmers split into several companies since Jerome Zimmer passed away.  I can vouch for Don and John in mid-Mo.  Great people in the building top to bottom.

As a 1310 frequency alumnus, I agree--it is good to hear KZRG doing its thing.  Four States Broadcasters would be happy.  Too bad they never started the early tv station they once talked about, before  ch 7/koamradio/Globe installation.

I know this is months after the fact, but I just read this and had to chime in. It is my understanding that legal IDs are not required by the FCC during live sports broadcasts. I don't know why, or even if this is true, but individuals whom I consider much smarter than myself have accepted that as the truth. I'd love to hear you guys sound in on this.

"Hourly, as close to the top of the hour as possible, whenever there is a natural break in the programming."  That means if there is a pause for applause, stick it there.

I'll second that.

It is my understanding that station identification during sporting events and special programming is required once an hour at convenient breaks in the action/performance and should be as close to the top or bottom of the hour as possible.

My new friends in Ham Radio are fanatics about Station ID's.    In Amateur, it's every ten minutes.    Of course, Hams are PROUD of their calls, and live to give them as often as possible!
