KJML tower collapses during ice storm. When the power came back on Tuesday night, KJML transmitter didn't come back up. I went out to inspect today. This is what I found. Temporarily, the "Rock 105.3" format has been moved to 107.1. More details to come.

Looks like if it would have fell the other direction, it would have been in the power lines.
That's a station's worst nightmare. Art, I guess you have some experience in
getting a station back on the after the tornado at Stockton.
Hope you can get back on the air soon.

| Somebody over at 10 reads the board. They went out and got some footage for the news Thursday night.

KJML 105.3 is back on the air, I believe operting very low power from their Joplin studio location.
Maybe Art can give us the info on this..Signal strong at my location probably only 2 miles from transmitter.
Probably on WMBH 1560 tower.

Yes, that's correct.
We put up a single bay antenna on the tower behind the studios at 2510 West 20th street. We're using the BE 250W exciter, resulting in ERP of about 100 watts. I'm very pleased with the coverage, though.
KJML is operating on an STA from the FCC until decisions are made about how to replace the old tower, etc.
Thanks for noticing....

They flip-flopped 107.1 & 105.3
107.1 is now Rock (Active Rock)
105.3 is now CHR ("The Beat", formerly "Q107")

| Cool! Thanks for the info, Art! By the way, are you at Bootlegger's in that picture?

No, though I go to Bootleggers on a frequent basis.
That was Carlos O'Kelly's in Springfield!

I was lucky enough to listen for a while today to the new Rock-107. I think it sounds pretty good! I listened to the online stream for about 45 minutes. I didn't hear any jocks, but the station sounds decent! Props to Community!
