There was a great editorial in the N-L today. Opposing views will be considered.

Thanks for your comment about Thursdays Editorial in the N-L...I will be in there every-other Thursday.

As to why this board is dead...I think it goes to one person who keeps on using "paste-ups" from other boards that are all political in nature and having nothing to do with the Broadcast business.  The title is Missouri Radio Message Board...I suppose Art would allow some TV talk as well.  But "Mr. M" is ruining this board. No one I know of ever reads any of this paste-up trash.

I agree....Maybe there should be a "RESTRICTION" on posting links ....Hey Art can you do that?....I never was in radio but worked around radio stations my entire life...I like to see the thoughts and connect with folks that I'd been around for years via this board....

Maybe "news" should be restricted to the radio industry only.  Maybe "television" should be restricted to tv industry only.  eliminate politics from the discussion. Mr. Mike can go do his modern day version of "paper dollars" else where.

we need to watch, though, because "Respect" will be on us to make sure  our commnets are in his top five areas of concern only:cool:

Mr. Mike isnt killing the board, when there is a hot topic or something happening we jump on it ... its just been slow as far as news or gossip and we have beat all of our favorite topics to death ... automation, cut-backs, loss of local flavor, what ever happened to type stuff, why Springfield high school's can't produce a winning football team or keep coaches. Corporate thugs who claim to care about thier community then gut everything and fire everyone. My sorry no account Royals.  Gas prices, how slow the resturant business has become, I personally am scarred, they SAY another great depression can't happen but ...

Mr. Mike hasn't killed the board but in my opinion he's making it smell funny. There's been a few of his sports postings that aren't far from the reservation, but all too often, he injects political bias(most of the time from others) into his efforts here. I have tried but am tired of questioning his motives and pointing out his hypocritical ways. When you see the same old s#*t regurgitated day after day, one tends to skip through it quickly. He should be called Mr. Muck.

If we ban Mike it reinforces what Rush tells his audience that liberals can't win the war of ideas so they resort to censorship.

I agree that no one should be banned from the board.
It's plain to see that Mr. Muck is already being ignored.
Zero comments on his postings are common, and when there are some, many come from himsel...er, excuse me, others by way of himself. He's been givin' a certain amount of rope and has hanged himself quite nicely on many occasion.

This board has been slow.  I usually try to reply to most threads whether I know what I am talking about or not.  I wish more people would do the same.  It would make it more interesting.  I think some people are reluctant to post if they are employed in radio...some management frown on the participation.

^ Yeah, I'm very wary of posting who I actually work for, but I enjoy the board, nonetheless.

I don't work in radio so I don't have much to offer in terms of initiating anything.  I will offer my opinion where I can and ask basic, non-radio-guy questions that probably make the rest of you cringe.

To expand on Ace's last comment - I assume there are quite a few unregistered, radio industry lurkers there are that read this to keep tabs on their organization and others without actually participating.  Is there a way to estimate how many there are?  Even better, does anyone want to offer seat of the pants, unverifiable speculation about this?

There is more hot gossip and talk on Springfield radio on gatewaycityradio.com's message board these days. This board is considered snobby.
