I read most of the article and it does sound like utopia. In a perfect world I would still be in radio be it in Burlington Kansas or even being a TOZ volunteer would still be fun BUT the fact is radio is not a neccesary item anymore. We live in the day and age of corporate thuggery, not just radio but ALL aspects of job life in America. You see it resturants where 4 person jobs become a 1 person job. The whole idea today in every business is to get more with less. Outsource, automate, scale back, hire an illegal amigo whatever it takes. A few years ago in Emporia Kansas they had a storm and flood that killed 4 people NOT ONE Emporia station broke automation to cover it. Young people today are conditioned to expect less so they don't miss what we knew.
