Hi Everyone,

I saw this mentioned elsewhere on this board about an exchange of work for classes and it makes sense.

We did a quiet promotion of some classes a couple of weeks ago and had 12 people show up.

We are now getting ready to promote the classes publicly and see what happens. We're offering classes and workshops in a variety of areas in exchange for volunteer work at our future station.

Classes include audio engineering, digital recording and editing. live performance recording, news reporting and interviewing, weather, writing for radio, radio theater, radio reading, sales and fundraising, and production.

Classes will include printed materials, software, and use of equipment as needed. There will be guest speakers for some sessions. No previous broadcast experience is required. For now classes will be held at what will be our main studio in Cabool, MO.

If you know of someone who might be interested please have them visit our website at KZ88.org or email me. Most classes will be held Saturdays.

We're also auditioning programs and program ideas. If you've wanted to to a news feature, commentary, music program, how-to show, etc. please let us know!

Nice, I've been advocating something similar to this for 15 years or so.

Everyone is welcome whether you live in our coverage area or not. So far we have a couple of people from outside of our coverage who are going to attend some of the classes in exchange for voice-over work and some production work.  The area has lots of people with talent who don't have an outlet for their work. :(
