Sad story out of NYC. According to reports, he didn't show for his weekend airshift at ABC Radio and police found him murdered in his apartment, stabbed in the neck.

I got to know George when I worked in Denver. We covered many stories together. He was at competing KIMN/KYGO. George was an excellent radio news pro and always inquisitive. I remember he liked to start question with the word, "supppose."
George lived and breathed radio. He had a successful career.
