A longtime radio host, WMAL AM 630's Chris Core, was laid off, and jazz was dropped for oldies yesterday in a major shake-up for D.C. radio. Among those let go were station news director and longtime Chicago radio news journalist Jennifer Keiper and longtime City Hall reporter Bill Cameron, sources said (read more - Chicago Tribune)

Citadel Broadcasting said Friday its fourth quarter net loss widened to $848.1 million, or $3.24 a share, compared with a loss of $1.1 milion, or a 1 cent a share in the same quarter a year ago (read more - CNN Money)

We haven't seen the last.  Citadel joins CBS, Clear Channel and Cummulus in large cuts.

Going to be even harder for radio to re-invent itself.

Sad part about WLS in Chicago is they now have a two person news department.  They used to have six.   Looks like they will be going more  bird programming, including Imus.
