From the link you posted Muck:
In the Amazon.com promotion for her book, Ifill is described as "drawing on interviews with power brokers," such as Obama and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
In an online video promoting her book, she is enthusiastic about "taking the story of Barack Obama and extending it."
It focuses on four people, "one of them Barack Obama of course," she said.
"They are changing our politics and changing our nation," she said.
On Amazon.com, Ifill is praised for her "incisive, detailed profiles of such prominent leaders as Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, and U.S. Congressman Artur Davis of Alabama."
"Ifill shows why this is a pivotal moment in American history," the review says.
She told AP her view of Obama: "I still don't know if he'll be a good president."
I don't read a "rah, rah, vote for Obama!" anywhere here. I doubt if you or anyone else could find anything like that in the book if you chose to actually read it. Bias is in the eye of the beholder here and that's you Muck.
Of course I haven't read the book either, but it looks to me like a biography of sorts obout Obama and other persons of color who have chosen a career of public service and politics. When you actually find a "pro Obama" phrase in the book, do like Sarah Palin said she would do for Katie Couric when Couric asked for specifics, and (paraphrasing here) "get back to me"

This is getting completely ridiculous.
It sure is. People get upset over a book that won't even be out until well after the election is decided? Ah, that's right. They're trying to take the focus off of the issues of the election. You want unfair unbalanced election reporting? Watch Fox "news".

Unlike Clinton, Biden Gets Pass for Saying He Was 'Shot At' in Iraq
When Hillary Clinton told a tall tale about "landing under sniper fire" in Bosnia, she was accused of "inflating her war experience" by Barack Obama's campaign -- but the campaign has been silent about Joe Biden telling his own questionable story about being "shot at" in Iraq.

From "The Hill: In December 2005, Biden and his staff spent the night in the Green Zone. At about 6:30 a.m., they heard mortars fired a few hundred yards away, which shook the aides’ trailer and rattled the building where Biden was getting ready for the day.
“A soldier came by to explain what happened and said if the mortar fire continued, they would need to proceed to a shelter,” according to the aides.
During the same December 2005 trip, a bullet narrowly missed the helicopter that Biden and his aides were flying in en route to the Baghdad airport from the Green Zone. But the most harrowing episode, according to an aide present, took place in December 2004, while Biden was leaving Iraq in a C-130 cargo airplane. The plane’s anti-missile system was triggered, indicating that they had been fired upon by a surface-to-air missile.
“When mortars are fired into the Green Zone or surface-to-air missiles are fired at a plane, they don’t have names or addresses on them,” Biden spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander wrote. “The nuance of being shot at or shot near means nothing in a war zone. The point Sen. Biden was making is that Iraq is a dangerous place — for our troops, for Iraqis, for everyone.”
The above three instances have been documented.
Biden, I understand claimed 7 cases of being shot at.
There's a good chance all of them didn't happen, but some of them obviously did.
What Biden also claimed was that his helicopter had been "forced down". It was along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border not Iraq. What Biden omitted from the speech was that the chopper was forced down because of weather not hostile fire. He didn't say anything about being "shot at", but at the same time he didn't say it was because of the weather either. He was not entirely forthcoming was he? Still though, Iraq or Afghanistan it's not a situation I or you even you Muck would like to be in, trust me on this one.
Hillary was a dumb-ass for saying what she said about "being under sniper fire". It didn't happen although her party was warned before they landed that it was a possibility.
What I don't get, is that you and your kind like to raise all kind of hell about trivial things (Rachel Ray's scarf, Democrats using the word lipstick w/o permission etc, etc) to distract the rest of us from Rome burning to the ground.Last edited on Thu Oct 2nd, 2008 10:03 am by 1340-1971

| Thank you Muck for using "The Old Media" to make your point. The good old AP. You are going off the rez Muck. The neo-con talking point today is how Biden is getting a pass from the MSM. Oh, that's right you said exactly that a few posts ago. So your link to an AP story critical of Biden detracts from your argument. You are really one sorry ass Muck. But in the same sentence as his "lament" McCain says "But I have to have confidence that Gwen Ifill will handle this as the professional journalist that she is."
Remember Muck, McCain wasn't your first choice was he? And here you are trying to convince others that he should be their first choice. I suggest you stop to think about your posting in hypothetical ring through the nose terms and instead go for credibility. Please give us all your opinion on a book after you have read the book. Please, instead of posting a link about tonights debate, actually write your own thoughts about the event on this forum. If you're not posting links to sites that are obviously bias, it's to those MSM sites that have done work you calim they do not, ie being critical of (gasp!) a Democrat.

As the media fumes over nonexistent hate at Palin speeches, it ignores leftists who go berserk on city streets.
