FM ducting has really been hot the last several days.
The level of trash is incredible, especially early in the morning. I've been getting calls from clients all over the place complaining about their signals.
It can cause some problems with local reception. On the other hand your signal may be heard some distance away. There are clubs of dx enthusiasts who try to log as many stations as possible. Ranges of hundreds of miles are not that uncommon even for lower powered signals. I'm still waiting for some dxer to pick up our station. With our power and directional pattern that may not be as likely as other area stations, but it all depends on conditions. We have QSL cards ready to send out to any confirmed dx reception.
Just checked some online posts about stations from Missouri. A dxer in Michigan has picked up the following over the last couple of days. These range up to 682 miles from his location.
