Ain't the Internet grand?  I grab My grandson, who is into hip-hop music, and force him to watch some of the ole 70's soul groups on youtube of course the Temps, the Tops, Ojays are classic but I especially enjoyed the wardrobe's and choreography of the Dramatics doing In The Rain and What You See Is What You Get.  Be glad, be very very glad you are not my grandson.

That Dramatics song is one of about R&B songs I can think of that was inspired by a comedian's catchprase. "Whatcha See Is Watcha Get" was from Flip Wilson's Geraldine character. There was a funky dance number called "Dyno-Mite" after Jimmie Walker's line. Arsenio Hall was the source of "Things That Make You Go HHHMMMM."
