When ever one of our guys would come up with a real dumb idea, we would not broadcast it. I always said.."we could say the "F-word" every morning at 7:15 and people would tune in the next day to see if we were stupid enough to do it again, but that doesn't mean we will do it" There has to be some self imposed rules to keep the station in good taste.  AND...Limbaugh is not in good taste as far as I am concerned.:)

Curt...what the "F-word" does this post have to do with what we are talking about?

The "F-word"?  You are not in good taste:shock: My life span on this board is probably short since I challenge the great XGM like some others.

The Rush Limbaugh media lynch mob

Which public figure can be quoted as having said something bigoted and disgusting and it doesn’t matter whether he did or not because he might have? Who can Big Media brand a racist without checking the facts? Who has to prove he did not say something racist, rather than the accuser proving he did?

A pat on the back for anyone who guessed the answer: Rush Limbaugh (OK, the blog headline was a clue). From CNN  to MSNBC to ABC, it’s been put about that Limbaugh said this

Many on this board could learn a thing or two by reading this article. You that make comment but never listen to the show.

Dude, I have listened to Rush's show since 1992. I have read his first 2 books, I get his whole trip. When he came out in the early 1990's he was a refreshing change from NPR style whisper talk shows. He was the first to take advantage of the death of the fairness doctrine thus creating talk radio as we know it. He did say the things alot of us mid-west folk thought but didnt have anyone to voice these things and do it with humor. I love his song parodies and laughing good time at taboo subjects like the homeless. The thing is, Rush is no more racist or cruel than say Bill Mahrer, Hunter S Thompson, or alot of other writers and commentators, the thing is he LOOKS the part of bad bigot. No shades or ski parkas. He is balding, he is pudgy, he plays golf, smokes the Archie Bunker cigar, his brand of cool hip and funny is funny to people in "flyover" country. He isnt "cool." Add to this 25 years later Rush has a whole crop of his own spawn to compete with, Beck, Hannity, ect... But here is the thing, Rush is forever branded with a label. Just like any show, Johnny Carson.. you immediatly conjure up. Dittoheads may bother to understand but to non-dittoheads Rush trying to go "mainstream" is like a hardcore porn actress  trying to be in the next High School Musical movie.

Kenny G you are just about to see what Americans think about this and many other issues come 2010 and 2012. It will be a teaching moment for you and many others. The silent majority is coming.

I like Republicans like Reagan and Eisenhower, You realize Nixon would be considered liberal today. When you live in a place like Salina that so overwhelmingly one-sided its easy to forget that Obama is popular in alot of places not just Vermont and Frisco. The right definalty has its machine working overtime. I signed up for Ann Coulters newsletter through this site and within 2 weeks had enough right wing book offers, newsletters, talking points even ads for cheap weopons and "security" devises. It makes the Rambo, Soilder of Fortune Reagan era seem comical. I watched the Salina Tea-party replay on cable access last night and I realize the 10's might just make the 60's look innocent and tame. Wait until a Kent State type shooting happens at a Tea-Party. The problem is.. I see Rush, Fox, talk radio even Beck as entertainment. I watch MSNBC also, sometimes I agree, sometimes I cringe but its all like Pro rasslin its just tv and radio. But the effect man, do any of you want to live in THAT polorized America?

The Search for the Wikipedia Libelist.

Thanks to an intrepid blogger with the tag Trapdoc posting a letter to Mark Steyn,[font="times new roman, times" itxtvisited="1"] the search for the Wikipedia Libelist responsible for damaging posts to the Rush Limbaugh account apparently has been narrowed to the IP address of a New York City law firm:
