Back to real subjects for the forum.....

It's good to see local origination in HD.  KSPR had to spend a TON for all the field cameras, let alone studio and control equipment.  Looks great.  I'm looking forward to seeing some activity on their HD radar.

That said, a few lessons need to be learned in keeping the 4:3 audience in mind when framing a shot.  Plenty of material was being lost for 75% of the potential audience.

Now if they's just start running "Jeopardy!" in HD.....

33 has really turned things around in so many ways in the last year or so. In some ways they've come full circle back to being involved in their coverage area rather than just the metropolitan area. For a while watching them was like tuning in on a LPTV in Springfield.  Great changes for viewers!!!

I'm going to rant for a moment here.

Viewing KSPR is like torture.  Its the same b-rate crap they've aired for years just in HD.  Though, I am glad they forget about 4:3 for a bit.  I'm sick of having made the investment in HD and not getting a good return because of broadcasters who won't give people an incentive to upgrade.

I'm not a fan of the biased reporting KSPR and KY do, nor can I stomach Dave & Joy on KOLR.  (I only watch local news when I need a good laugh)

Watching KSPR's efforts with HD really don't accomplish much other than trying to bump KOLR off, and that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

And I have seen Jeopardy in HD once or twice on KSPR.  Again, but if it has black bars, I don't watch.  I don't need screen burn.

Thanks to Buddy D. for starting an appropriate thread for the forum.  If I want to read the s#@t tommy t and am man are posting I will visit free republic.  In my opinion KSPR has indeed turned things around and is actually gathering and reporting the news.  Good for them.  I was wondering how the first cast from the new digs with robot cams would go, and I was impressed.  The set looks great.  And Sneaky, what bias are you seeing coming out of KY and 33?  Can you give examples?

KY and KSPR haven't met a tax they don't like.  They gave them all the play to get it passed and really looked over the opposition and didn't bother to delve into it like they should have.

That irritates me.  I sat through the scare tactics that City Hall used to weasel the latest tax through and NO ONE, not even KOLR gave the opposition much, if any, airtime.

KY also doesn't run stories that might upset its advertisers.  There's been alot of things they've passed on over the years because of a sponsor or friend of No Regard.

Finally a comment on the CONTENT of KSPR and others so called news in Springfield. Bell's and whistles not actual news is what it is all about on the boob tube.

Thank you Sneaky for actually having an answer to my question.  I don't agree with you, but I appreciate your candor.  And Tommy T, I find it a bit ironic your comment:  "Finally a comment on the CONTENT of KSPR and others so called news in Springfield"  There many of us waiting for you to "finally" come up with comments of your own.  I believe you to nothing more than a parrot with a keyboard.

Parrot on a keyboard...I love it!

Is the robotic camera obvious?  Seems to be.
