Browsing through a list of streaming stations in MO, I was surprised to come across KUNQ in Houston, MO.  I punched it up,and the station certainly sounded 1000 times better than I remembered it under the ownership of the Acker Family several years ago when I last heard it.

Anyone know where they are getting their music from? I really enjoy the mix they are playing...

Really a great sounding small market station.

I like the mix too.  I don't really care for one of the DJ's voice so I don't listen that often but the music selection is great.

No, as I understand it, he and his wife were let go.  I know for sure he is no longer there, but not 100% sure on the reason.

Also.... the DJ I thought stunk is now sounding much better.

We all gotta start somewhere - I found some airchecks from my first on air gig - stumbling over words, and sounding like I was sucking helium.

It actually surprised me that Adams kept a gig at 99 that long or any gig for that matter.

From experience with both Adams and the owner of KUNQ, while they may be much slicker in sound, I can testify that the interests of the community aren't their first priority.

It would seem they didn't think twice about hurting the Mountain Grove station when they worked there in order to benefit their own interests once they moved to the Houston FM.
